Thanks to the effort and the enthusiasm of the workgroup Child and Family – for five continuous months already - we have almost reached the 1000th newborn baby who will participate in our research program JOnG! with his/her parents.
Curious who will be number 1000? We are!

The JOnG! baby study is going great! The majority of the families we approach agree to participate. At this moment there are already 120 families involved, with daily additions! It warms our hearts that people understand how important it is to participate in this unique scientific research project. We even hear that some people are slightly disappointed if their baby is born on an even-day.

The start of JOnG! might not have escaped you. “The perfect child doesn’t exist” exclaimed De Standaard. The headline of Het Laatste Nieuws stated “11.000 children under the lens”. Besides the newspapers, national and regional TV-stations also paid a large amount of attention to the initiation of JonG! (TV Limburg TVL and Antwerpse televise ATV)

The selection of the birth cohort group for the research program JOnG! has begun. Children born on odd-days and living in one of the nine selected regions, can participate in the study. During an initial house visit, a regional team member of Child and Family will provide you with information and invite you to participate. Are you and your child are eligible to join JOnG!?
